Assembly at the Bridge

Sunday February 14 was the first anniversary of Assembly, an artists salon held at the Bridge PAI the second Sunday of each month.

Assembly is “a regular gathering of local artists of all stripes to socialize, find collaborators, get feedback, [and] share work in progress….” in a relaxed supportive atmosphere.

It is open to the public and artists sign up to present a new work; the Assemblers on any given Sunday may or may not include writers, musicians, painters, dancers, scribblers, actors, photographers, woodworkers, idea makers, sandwich makers, freeloaders, quiet talkers, singers, dreamers, and accountants among others.

I played a new song Sunday, a song about a girl named Annie whose story I can’t get out of my head….

After I performed I was awarded a candy heart by the Arts Committee.

Darling Annie
Annie was our angel, precious little lot
The last of seven Christians, cast into a pot
She stirred while she was sleeping, white lace trundle bed
But her nerves would slowly leave her, roly poly head.
